Soccer

Elliona has been begging to play soccer.  Where she got this idea, I have no clue.  Our school district doesn't offer soccer, so we joined Upward Soccer.  Upward offers sports for children through a local church.  She loves it!!!!  She is very shy and it is helping her to slowly come out of her shell.  This makes her mommy and daddy extremely happy and proud!!!

Elliona going to her 1st game.

Here's the team.

Go Elli!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this pic!!!!

This age is so much fun.  They just want to go out there and play and have fun.  It's not about winning or losing.  She gets so excited when she knows it's getting close to Saturday, which is game day.

Tie Dyed Cake

For my father-in-law's birthday, my daughter and I made him a tie dyed birthday cake.  It turned out really cool and we had a lot of fun making it.  It was a bit time consuming, but totally worth it.  I got the idea for it at Bird On A Cake.  It's a really fun blog!!  Check it out, I'll let her give you the instructions for this awesome cake!!!  Here are some pics!!

Elliona was sooo proud that she helped make the cake!!

Yum-o!!!  It was soooo delish!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday PaPa!!!!!!

Here's a shout out to my father-in-law on his special day!!!!

Valentines Day

                                  Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Yesterday was Elliona's Valentine's Day party at school.  So, of course, we had to make a SUPER cute V-day box and sweet little treat for her to pass out to her classmates!!!  She's really into the movie Tangled, so "we" (meaning I) made Rapunzel's tower.  It turned out really cute!!

I found a picture of her on-line and cut out a window frame.  Behind the frame I glued in the shear fabric for curtains and braided some yellow ribbon for her hair.  The little flowers going up the side are made of crunched up tissue paper.  It took about 3 hours to make it!!!  Probably a normal person could do it much faster, but I am a perfectionist!!!!

For her class treats I made Valentines Marshmallow Treats.  They turned out really cute and tasty!!!!  I got the idea for them here

Ohhhhh, I thought I was never going to be done wrapping and tying ribbon on suckers!!!!  I pretty much worked on them all afternoon on Sunday!!!  Elli was so happy, so that's all that counts!!!

Enjoy your day and I hope it's full of LOVE!!!!!!!

Elliona's Braids

My daughter, Elliona, who is 5 always has to look "pretty" when she goes somewhere.  Whether that place is Walmart, pre-school or the library, she says "I have to be pretty, mom!!"  Pretty to her cute-little-5-year-old-girl mind is a pair of pink leggings, a tutu and any pink shirt she can find, paired with her super glittery silver ballet flats.  Oh... to be a kid again!!!  This is who she is and I love that she can use her clothing to express herself!!!  But, lately she has been requesting that I braid her hair to look like Rapunzel's or a princess's.  This totally took me by surprise!!!!  I have to chase her around the house with a comb for 15 minutes just to brush her hair, so this was totally out of the norm!!!  Not to mention this past summer I put her hair into a halo braid for the first time and she freaked out the whole time.  I swore I would never do it again!!

Here is a pic of it!  She wasn't very happy that I was taking her picture after I tortured her!!

I thought it turned out really cute and she received a lot of compliments on her hair that day!  So, time went by and it was Christmas Eve and I thought I would give the french braid thing a shot again!  Hoping that maybe we could make it through without so much crying!  Nope, not so much, but it did turn out really cute and of course she said she hated it!

Again, she is not happy!!  But look how cute those piggies are!!!

Everything changed when we were bringing her to see Disney Princesses on Ice last month.  She asked for me to braid her hair like Rapunzel's for the show!  I was hesitant, but she was persistent and promised she would sit still and not cry!  And that is exactly what she did!!  She even asked me to put extra curls in it with the curling iron (she has naturally curly hair).

She loved it!!

The other night we were going out to dinner and she pulled out her normal go-to pretty outfit and asked for "princess hair", so everyone there would tell her she looked pretty!!

This is what I came up with!  It was cute!

Now, I am starting to think I might have a little princess diva on my hands!!!  I am so happy that she is finally letting me do her hair!!  That's one of the fun things of having a girl, dressing her up and doing her hair!!

Elliona's Special Day

This past Saturday we brought Elliona to Cleveland to see Disney Princesses On Ice.  We have never brought her to something like that, so it was a SUPER special day!  She absolutely LOVES the Disney princesses and was counting down the days!  She had her outfit and her hair planned out for a week!!!  She wanted to dress-up as Rapunzel and her hair had to be braided on both sides and meet in the middle and go down in the back.  She would wear regular clothes for the drive and for going out to dinner.  Then would change in the car when we got there.  Those were my specific directions and that's exactly what we did!!

This is how she wanted her hair done, so it would look like Rapunzel's.  I loved it and I wish she would let me do it like that all the time!!

Those are some pics of us when we got there and she got all dolled up!  She was so cute!!

The whole show was very entertaining and soooo cute!!  They performed condensed versions of The Princess and The Frog, Cinderella, and Tangled.  Elliona was very excited about getting to see Rapunzel and of course it was the last one.  It was totally worth the wait!  Rapunzel and Flynn did tricks by holding on to long pieces of her hair suspended from the ceiling.  They flew off the ice and through the air so effortlessly and their hands where the only things clinging themselves to the hair!!!  Rich and I was very impressed!!

A scene from The Princess and The Frog.

I don't think I have to say who this is.

This is part of the finale where they are welcoming Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to join the rest of the princes and princesses.

Elliona really liked the show and is already talking about when she gets to go again.  Little girls are so fun.  We are so blessed to have such a beautiful lit'l princess Elli!!!!!!!

Here's A New One

It's 9:50 pm and my kids won't go to sleep because I am out of drinks, besides water and milk!!!  And you know that WATER IS SOOOOO GROSS!!!!!  So, out of pure desperation I melted a peach popsicle and mixed it with water and they loved it!!!  Hey, what ever works!  Right?

Hair Update

Sorry guys no pics for you on my crazy hair!!  I hate it sooo much I can't bring myself to post one.  So, I went and bought the color to try and redo the red.  It didn't really do much, just maybe made it a little bit brighter.  Now, since I have colored my hair two times in one day I have to just live with this hair color for a little while.  Not happy!!!!  So, FYI if you have dark brown hair and want to put a funky color in it, you have to bleach it first!!!!
